Hello, my dear Readers. I am in hopes that you have found this fountain of information through a reliable source, for now that you have arrived, I am eager to press you with details of my own belief. This site is being built to educate you about Environmental Health, and my own thoughts and opinions on it. I have educated my classmates, friends, family, and several other odd associates . I now hope to go further that that, and educate you, Reader. I shall begin with a quick overview for you- at least, I will try to make it quick. I can be known to voice myself for long periods of time. Oh dear! I am now being called away from my writing. Reader, I will be back soon, so please, don't loose faith.
Alas! I have finally returned from my duties that needed attending to. Let me go back a mite, and we can pretend that this pause has never happened.

OVER-CONSUMPTION; WHAT THE WORLD IS COMING TO
You may have heard the term "over-consumption" before, but haven't understood quite what it meant. Well, I am here to tell you that over consumption is a problem that much of our world is facing, and can be defined loosely as, "The consumption of goods, both man-made and natural, at an unacceptable and alarming rate." (I wrote that definition, by the way, so forgive me, Reader, if it does not precisely match the dictionary's.)
The United States of America is one of the most consuming countries in the world. If we lived in India, we would use 95% less electricity, and 95% less oil. People buy things without a second thought, and often put them in a closet or basement and forget about them, and a perfectly good item just sits there, gathering a few curious dust bunnies.
"Why is it such a big deal?" You might be asking yourself. Well, if we don't wake up now, and start reusing and recycling, we won't have any resources left.
The U.S.A holds 5% of the world's population, is using 30% of the world's resources, and is creating 30% of the world's waste. We are using 6 times the amount that we should be! I live in the U.S., and I can't say that I am proud of my own country's role in this crisis. We are the reason this is happening. There is no one to blame but ourselves. We started this insanity, and it is up to us to stop it.
